Senior Backend Software Engineer

About the role

Join the Talabat engineering team in Dubai to build high‑impact backend services for the leading food and grocery ordering platform in MENA. You will work closely with product, data and other engineers to discover customer needs and deliver reliable, scalable solutions.

Key responsibilities

• Collaborate with cross‑functional teams to continuously discover and prioritize business problems.
• Design, develop, test and release end‑to‑end backend features in small, frequent batches.
• Own the full software development lifecycle, ensuring scalability and performance of services.
• Mentor fellow engineers and help evolve the team toward a self‑organizing, continuously improving unit.
• Question and simplify existing technical processes and systems to increase efficiency.

Required profile

• 5+ years of software engineering experience, preferably in an Extreme Programming environment.
• Strong communication skills and ability to build relationships across teams.
• Growth mindset, open‑mindedness and willingness to give and receive continuous feedback.
• Experience mentoring engineers and fostering a collaborative culture.
