Senior Commissioning Engineer – Telecom Systems

About the role

The Senior Commissioning Engineer will lead the pre‑commissioning, commissioning and start‑up of telecom systems for oil & gas projects. The role ensures all activities follow established standards, safety procedures and project schedules.

Key responsibilities

• Identify design failures and discrepancies.
• Perform pre‑commissioning, commissioning and start‑up of telecom systems such as PAGA, RADAR, RFID, UHF/VHF radios, antenna and telephone networks.
• Inspect systems for operational readiness and conduct functional and operational tests.
• Participate in P&ID, HAZOP and HAZID reviews.
• Prepare plans, method statements and mark‑ups for commissioning activities.
• Lead line walks, equipment inspections and vendor package readiness.
• Ensure test equipment is safe and available.
• Lead a multidisciplinary team and coordinate with other disciplines.
• Report progress, flag potential delays and propose solutions.
• Support database preparation for pre‑commissioning status and technical records.
• Monitor vendor activities and manage commissioning spares.
• Perform inter‑discipline checks and ensure HSE compliance.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Telecom Engineering or equivalent.
• Minimum 10 years of relevant experience in the oil & gas industry.
• At least 4 years in a key commissioning role.
