Senior Contracts Officer – Civil Engineering

About the role

The Senior Contracts Officer – Civil Engineering will manage contracts for civil and construction projects from inception to close‑out. This role ensures that contractual, legal and technical aspects are fully aligned with AL TAIF’s objectives and project requirements.

Key responsibilities

• Review Scope of Work (SOW) specifications with requesters and end users for accuracy and completeness.
• Prepare and issue tender documents (ITT, RFP, RFQ) and evaluate bids based on technical and financial criteria.
• Draft final contractual instruments such as Purchase Orders, Blanket Purchase Agreements, Service Maintenance Agreements and obtain management approval.
• Administer contracts during vendor execution, including delivery follow‑up, signature coordination, and resolution of non‑conformances.
• Negotiate prices, timelines, payment schedules and other contractual terms with contractors.
• Identify, assess and manage contract‑related risks, including potential delays and legal issues.
• Manage change orders, monitor vendor performance and ensure compliance with agreed terms.
• Oversee contract closure, confirming that all deliverables and obligations are fulfilled.
• Support contract audits, inspections and prepare performance and risk reports for management.

Required profile

• Proven experience in managing contracts for civil engineering or construction projects.
• Strong understanding of contractual, legal and technical aspects of civil works.
• Ability to negotiate, resolve disputes and manage contractual risks.
• Familiarity with ISO 9001, ISO 45001 and ISO 14001 standards.
