Senior Data Engineer – Quality Automation

About the role

The Senior Data Engineer – Quality Automation will join a cross‑functional team within Emirates’ Enterprise Data & Analytics division. Working autonomously, you will design, build and maintain data quality and automation platforms that support the airline’s analytics solutions and business operations.

Key responsibilities

• Collaborate with product owners, analysts, engineers and architects to translate functional and non‑functional requirements into comprehensive acceptance tests.
• Analyse complex data problems, devise validation methods and automate solutions across the data pipeline.
• Develop test strategies, test plans and automated jobs that cover code functionality, data quality, performance and security.
• Create and manage test data, including generation and mocking for exploratory analysis.
• Design and implement data quality rules and observability mechanisms throughout the pipeline.
• Debug intricate issues, resolve blockers and follow design documentation with minimal supervision.
• Conduct source system analysis, data modelling, profiling, dictionary creation and source‑to‑target mapping.
• Maintain data inventories, registries and metadata to keep lineage up‑to‑date according to governance standards.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Computational Mathematics or a related field.
• At least 2 years of data engineering experience focused on quality and automation.
• Minimum 2 years of testing and automation experience in analytics environments such as Data Lakes or Data Warehouses.
• Ability to work independently and solve complex technical problems.
