Senior Data Engineer – Scalable Healthcare Data Platforms

About the role

PureCS, the technology arm of PureHealth, is seeking a Senior Data Engineer to lead the design and delivery of high‑quality, observable data products on a hybrid platform serving healthcare and AI use cases. You will set engineering standards, mentor teammates, and collaborate closely with Architecture, AI, Platform, and BI teams.

Key responsibilities

• Lead the development of batch and streaming data pipelines with a focus on reliability and cost efficiency.
• Standardise dbt testing, CI/CD pipelines and code‑review practices.
• Build governed data products with lineage, metadata, RBAC and privacy controls.
• Deliver feature pipelines for AI models and curated gold datasets for business intelligence.
• Define SLAs/SLOs, lead incident response and drive continuous improvement.
• Collaborate with Data Architecture, MLOps, Platform and BI teams to align on standards.

Required profile

• 7+ years of data engineering experience at scale.
• Strong SQL, data modelling and advanced Python programming.
• Deep expertise with Databricks, Spark, Delta Lake and performance tuning.
• Extensive experience with dbt, including testing and documentation.
• Hands‑on experience with streaming technologies such as Kafka or Azure Event Hubs and CDC tools.
• Proficiency in Azure data services, IAM and infrastructure‑as‑code.
• Background in healthcare data is a strong advantage.
