Senior Desktop Architect

About the role

The Senior Desktop Architect will lead the design, deployment and ongoing management of desktop environments across Windows, Linux and macOS platforms. This role ensures a seamless user experience by maintaining operating systems, patches, applications and security policies for the organization.

Key responsibilities

• Deploy, configure, maintain and monitor all desktop equipment, including OS, patches and applications.
• Design, build and maintain desktop images and solutions that support business requirements and future scaling.
• Maintain application stacks, system configurations and security policies such as anti‑virus and encryption.
• Resolve Tier‑3 support incidents and provide training to desktop technicians.
• Document, maintain and improve standard desktop‑management processes.
• Collaborate with cross‑functional teams to uphold standards of excellence and promote teamwork.

Required profile

• Minimum 25 years of experience as a Senior Support Engineer or similar role.
• ITIL V3 qualification.
• Master’s university degree.
• Strong customer‑service orientation with the ability to train and mentor junior staff.

Required skills

• Windows, Linux and macOS desktop environments.
• Office 365 administration.
• Asset‑registration and call‑tracking applications.
• Advanced troubleshooting and problem‑resolution at Tier‑3 level.
• Knowledge of ITIL V3 processes.
