Senior Electric Motor Engineer

About the role

POWERTECH is seeking a Senior Electric Motor Engineer to lead the design and development of high‑reliability electric motors for aerospace, defence and automotive propulsion systems. The role combines advanced electromagnetic, thermal and mechanical engineering with certification support and lifecycle management.

Key responsibilities

• Lead concept, detailed design and development of electric motors for e‑propulsion, hybrid systems, APUs and actuation devices.
• Define motor architectures focusing on power density, efficiency, thermal limits, redundancy and fault tolerance.
• Perform electromagnetic, thermal and structural simulations using tools such as ANSYS Maxwell, JMAG, Motor‑CAD and MATLAB/Simulink.
• Optimize designs for efficiency, NVH, weight, reliability and survivability under extreme conditions.
• Support motor‑inverter integration, torque control, efficiency mapping and fault detection.
• Oversee prototype builds, qualification testing, performance validation and root‑cause analysis.
• Assist certification activities in accordance with DO‑160, DO‑254, MIL‑STD, ISO 26262 and related IEC/ISO standards.
• Provide engineering support for production ramp‑up, field issues and in‑service improvements.

Required profile

• Senior‑level experience in electric motor design for aerospace, defence or automotive applications.
• Strong knowledge of electromagnetic, thermal and mechanical principles.
• Proven ability to lead cross‑functional teams and mentor junior engineers.
