Senior Electrical Engineer - Power Systems

About the role

A Senior Electrical Engineer is sought to design and implement electrical power and control systems for critical infrastructure such as nuclear facilities, manufacturing plants and generation stations. The role ensures the safe, stable and efficient delivery of power.

Key responsibilities

• Design, specify and engineer electrical systems including medium/low voltage power distribution, motor control centers (MCCs), protective relaying and emergency power systems.
• Develop system layouts, single-line diagrams, wiring diagrams and schematics using CAD software.
• Perform electrical studies such as short-circuit, load flow, arc flash and coordination analyses using tools such as ETAP or SKM.
• Program and configure PLCs (e.g. Siemens, Allen-Bradley), HMIs and other control system hardware.
• Prepare technical procurement specifications and oversee vendors.
• Ensure designs comply with codes and standards such as NEC, IEEE, CSA and NFPA.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering; PE license preferred.
• 5+ years of direct experience in electrical systems design, preferably for nuclear, utility or large industrial clients.
• Ability to obtain the necessary security clearances.

Required skills

• CAD software such as AutoCAD Electrical or EPLAN.
• Control system logic, instrumentation and PLC programming (Ladder Logic, Function Block Diagram).
