Senior Embedded Software Engineer – Navigation Systems

About the role

We are looking for a senior embedded software engineer to lead the development of advanced navigation solutions for mission‑critical defence applications. The role involves designing, implementing and maintaining high‑performance embedded software that integrates GPS, inertial navigation (INS) and multi‑sensor fusion technologies.

Key responsibilities

• Design, develop, test and maintain embedded C/C++ applications in real‑time environments.
• Implement navigation algorithms for GPS, INS and sensor‑fusion systems and integrate them with hardware platforms.
• Ensure software complies with coding standards, configuration‑management practices and industry regulations such as DO‑178C.
• Produce and maintain comprehensive documentation, including requirements, architecture, design specifications and test cases.
• Participate in design reviews, contribute to architecture decisions and define testing strategies.
• Support verification, validation and certification activities for defence programmes.
• Provide technical mentorship to junior engineers and collaborate with multidisciplinary teams.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Computer Engineering or a related field.
• Minimum 10 years of experience in embedded software development using C/C++.
• Experience with defence‑grade software certification (e.g., DO‑178C) is highly desirable.
• Proficiency in English, both written and spoken.
