Senior Engineer - CFD Aerospace

About the role

QuantaSim is looking for a Senior Engineer specialized in Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD) for aerospace applications. The role involves leading consulting projects, delivering high‑quality simulations, and providing expert technical guidance to customers.

Key responsibilities

• Lead technical scoping and proposal preparation, defining approach, assumptions, deliverables, effort, cost, schedule, risks and exclusions.
• Own end‑to‑end consulting project execution, including work‑plan definition, milestone tracking, risk management, customer reviews and documentation.
• Provide expert CFD simulations for external/internal aerodynamics, compressible flow, turbulence, heat transfer, conjugate heat transfer, multiphase and fluid‑structure interaction workflows.
• Lead aircraft icing simulations using ANSYS FENSAP‑ICE, covering droplet impingement, ice accretion, performance degradation and thermal anti‑/de‑icing analysis.
• Prepare technical reports and present findings, limitations and engineering recommendations to customer technical and management teams.
• Conduct online and onsite training, develop customized training materials and workshops using the ANSYS Fluids Portfolio.
• Apply advanced problem‑solving skills, rapidly learn new concepts and technologies, and travel up to 20% as required.

Required profile

• MS/PhD in Aerospace Engineering with a strong aerospace/aerodynamics background.
• 5+ years of hands‑on CFD experience, including significant aerospace project work; consulting or engineering services experience preferred.
• Strong foundation in aerodynamics, compressible flow, turbulence, heat transfer and multiphase modeling.
• In‑depth knowledge of aerospace fundamentals such as external aerodynamics, flight mechanics, stability analysis and aeroelasticity.
• Hands‑on experience with ANSYS Fluent; experience with ANSYS FENSAP‑ICE (or equivalent icing tools) strongly preferred.
• Additional expertise in radiation, DPM, species transport and MDM models is a plus.
• Experience with ANSYS SpaceClaim, Fluent Meshing and high‑performance computing for large‑scale simulations.
• Proficiency in Python scripting and User Defined Functions (UDFs) in Fluent.
• Exposure to ANSYS System Coupling/Mechanical for FSI workflows is an added advantage.
