Senior Engineer - DCI - DWDM Network Engineering

About the role

Core42 is seeking a Senior Transmission / DCI Network Engineer to design, implement and operate Data Center Interconnect (DCI) infrastructure based on DWDM/OTN technologies. The role ensures high‑performance, scalable and resilient optical networks that support cloud and high‑performance computing workloads.

Key responsibilities

• Design, deploy and manage DCI infrastructure using DWDM/OTN, guaranteeing high availability and optimal performance.
• Lead Level‑3 troubleshooting and incident resolution for complex optical transmission environments.
• Plan and optimise network capacity, traffic flows and infrastructure utilisation for growing cloud and HPC demands.
• Develop and review High‑Level and Low‑Level Designs (HLD/LLD) aligned with best practices and security standards.
• Manage deployments, upgrades, maintenance activities and change requests across data‑center sites.
• Collaborate with internal teams, WAN providers and technology vendors to deliver scalable network solutions.
• Oversee network testing, fiber validation and service verification using NMS and specialised tools.
• Maintain accurate documentation of network configurations, architecture and operational processes.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical, Electronics or Telecommunications Engineering.
• Minimum 5 years of hands‑on experience with DWDM/OTN technologies in DCI or large‑scale network environments.
• Proven expertise in optical transmission design, implementation and advanced troubleshooting.
