Senior Engineer, Electrical

About the role

We are seeking a Senior Electrical Engineer to lead and supervise electrical construction activities on ADNOC‑related oil and gas projects in Abu Dhabi. The role involves planning, coordinating and ensuring the quality and safety of all electrical installations from transformers to cable systems.

Key responsibilities

• Supervise and coordinate electrical construction and installation in line with approved IFC drawings, specifications and standards.
• Plan and monitor daily construction activities, ensuring progress meets project schedules and manpower requirements.
• Oversee installation of transformers, switchgear, MCCs, distribution panels, motors, generators, UPS systems and related equipment.
• Manage cable tray, ladder, conduit, power and control cable routing, lighting, earthing, bonding and lightning protection systems.
• Coordinate with civil, mechanical, instrumentation and piping teams to avoid clashes and ensure proper interface management.
• Monitor subcontractor performance, material availability and compliance with QA/QC inspection and testing plans.
• Ensure all work complies with HSE procedures, permit‑to‑work, lockout/tagout and relevant electrical safety regulations.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering.
• 8–12 years of electrical construction experience in the oil and gas industry, preferably with an EPC contractor.
• Proven experience delivering electrical installations for process plants, well pads, substations or pipelines.
• Familiarity with ADNOC or major oil and gas client standards and procedures.
• Strong leadership, communication and coordination skills.

Required skills

• Installation of transformers, switchgear and motor control centres (MCCs).
• Cable tray, ladder, conduit and power/control cable routing.
• Testing procedures: insulation resistance, continuity and earth resistance testing.
• Knowledge of IEC, IEEE and NEC standards.
• Use of IFC drawings, method statements and inspection test plans (ITPs).
