Senior Engineer - Planning

About the role

AECOM is seeking a seasoned Senior Planning Engineer to lead schedule and cost controls for complex infrastructure and building programmes in Dubai. You will develop robust baselines, monitor progress, and provide clear insights to support client decision‑making.

Key responsibilities

• Shape and maintain detailed project schedules (baseline, recovery, revised) using Primavera P6 or equivalent.
• Prepare master schedules, look‑ahead programmes, and regular progress reports.
• Coordinate planning activities, including interim milestones, traffic staging, and handover requirements.
• Integrate authority approvals (NOCs, permits, traffic diversions, utility coordination) into the schedule.
• Review contractors’ programmes against contractual milestones, KPIs and phasing requirements.
• Perform schedule risk, delay and time‑impact analyses in line with contract specifications.
• Collaborate with construction, procurement, design and commercial teams to align schedule, resources and deliverables.
• Support the Project Manager/Resident Engineer with planning inputs for corrective actions and decision‑making.

Required profile

• Proven experience as a senior planning engineer on large‑scale infrastructure or building projects.
• Strong understanding of work breakdown structures (WBS) and contract specifications.
• Ability to analyse schedule data, identify critical path impacts and recommend mitigation measures.
• Excellent communication skills to liaise with multidisciplinary teams and clients.
