Senior Engineer - Water Hydrology and Stormwater

About the role

WSP is looking for a Senior Engineer specializing in Water Hydrology and Stormwater to join its Transport & Infrastructure unit in the UAE. The role involves designing and delivering hydrology, stormwater management, and drainage solutions for major infrastructure and land‑development projects across Sharjah.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct hydrological assessments, flood risk analyses, and stormwater management designs for infrastructure and land‑development projects.
• Perform hydraulic modelling using tools such as InfoWorks ICM, HEC‑RAS, Flood Modeller, StormCAD, MicroDrainage, and Civil 3D.
• Coordinate with multidisciplinary engineering teams, support project managers, and ensure designs meet local authority standards.
• Prepare technical reports, calculations, design drawings, and authority submission documents.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Water Engineering or a related discipline.
• Minimum 8 + years of experience in hydrology, stormwater management, and drainage design, preferably on UAE infrastructure projects.
• Strong knowledge of local authority requirements and standards.
• Working towards Chartered Engineer status or equivalent accreditation is desirable.
