Senior Facade Engineer

About the role

The Senior Facade Engineer will lead the design, engineering and validation of façade systems for high‑profile projects in Abu Dhabi. You will ensure that all façade solutions meet performance, constructability, cost and regulatory requirements.

Key responsibilities

• Review and validate façade concept designs for performance, constructability, cost efficiency and compliance.
• Lead detailed engineering of unitised and stick curtain‑wall systems, structural glazing, skylights, atriums, aluminium cladding, composite panels, louvers and shading devices.
• Ensure compliance with local building codes, international standards (ASTM, AAMA, CWCT, EN, BS), wind‑load and seismic criteria, thermal, acoustic and fire‑life‑safety requirements.
• Coordinate façade interfaces with structural, architectural and MEP disciplines.
• Manage shop drawing and technical submittal reviews, including structural calculations, thermal analysis reports and method statements.
• Verify detailing for movement joints, tolerances, anchoring, waterproofing, drainage, thermal breaks and condensation control.
• Review material submittals such as aluminium profiles, glass specifications, gaskets, sealants, fixings, insulation and fire‑stopping materials.
• Lead façade mock‑up strategy, supervise performance testing (air infiltration, water penetration, wind pressure, seismic simulation) and ensure long‑term durability.

Required profile

• Senior‑level professional with extensive experience in façade engineering and design.
• Strong knowledge of international façade standards and local UAE building regulations.
• Proven ability to coordinate multidisciplinary teams and manage complex façade projects.
