Senior Internal Auditor

About the role

As a Senior Internal Auditor at Agthia, you will lead audit engagements across all entities, evaluate internal controls, ensure regulatory compliance, and mentor junior staff to uphold the highest standards of governance.

Key responsibilities

• Execute audit fieldwork in line with the approved audit plan, internal audit standards and company policies.
• Evaluate the adequacy and effectiveness of internal controls across business processes.
• Prepare audit reports with actionable recommendations and minimal revisions.
• Review working papers for accuracy, completeness and proper cross‑referencing.
• Participate in audit planning, opening and closing meetings with stakeholders.
• Monitor and follow up on the implementation of audit action plans.
• Build professional relationships with auditees and promote a culture of transparency.
• Utilize audit tools such as ACL and ePortal to enhance efficiency.
• Coach and mentor junior auditors on‑the‑job.
• Contribute to special projects, consultancy reviews and continuous improvement of audit methodologies.
• Stay current with local regulations, IIA standards and internal audit best practices.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Business, Commerce, Economics or a related field.
• Professional qualification such as CPA or CIA (preferred).
• 5–7 years of experience in internal audit.
• Strong understanding of internal control frameworks and audit methodologies.
• Fluency in English; Arabic is an advantage.

Required skills

• Proficiency with audit software tools (ACL, ePortal).
• Knowledge of EDP audit techniques and audit management systems.
• Ability to apply internal control frameworks and audit methodologies.
• Strong analytical and reporting capabilities.
