Senior Lecturer – Maritime Studies

About the role

The Senior Lecturer will deliver high‑quality teaching, learning, assessment and tutorial support to students across maritime‑related programmes such as Nautical, Marine Engineering and Logistics. The role also involves leading curriculum updates and contributing to consultancy projects.

Key responsibilities

• Teach and assess assigned courses in line with the Academic Catalog and faculty handbook.
• Develop and update course materials, schemes of work, lesson plans and assessment plans.
• Provide training and consultancy services as required.
• Coach at‑risk students, deliver tutorials and offer academic advice.
• Lead accreditation efforts for specific courses.
• Participate in committees, associate roles and Academy events.
• Maintain records of student progress and coordinate reporting.
• Support curriculum development, quality assurance and self‑assessment procedures.
• Organise industrial visits and maintain effective industry links.

Required profile

• Relevant academic qualifications and experience in maritime education.
• Proven ability to teach, assess and mentor students at various levels.
• Experience in curriculum development and quality assurance processes.
• Strong commitment to continuous improvement and student success.
