Senior Legal Specialist

About the role

BYD is seeking a pragmatic and detail‑oriented Senior Legal Specialist to support its expanding operations across Saudi Arabia and the wider Middle East. You will work closely with the regional legal team, handling distributor relations, labor compliance, and regulatory matters.

Key responsibilities

• Manage legal aspects of Saudi distributor relationships and review commercial agreements to protect company interests.
• Support day‑to‑day legal activities and operational management of BYD’s Saudi subsidiaries.
• Draft, review, and administer employment contracts, ensuring full compliance with KSA Labor Law and related platforms such as Qiwa.
• Coordinate with external law firms on regulatory issues, focusing on the Personal Data Protection Law (PDPL) and broader compliance frameworks.
• Monitor local legislative updates, conduct regulatory research, and provide clear interpretations of new policies.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Law (LLB) from a recognized Middle‑East university.
• Minimum 2 years of corporate in‑house or law‑firm experience, preferably in automotive or high‑tech sectors.
• Professional proficiency in English and Arabic, with the ability to draft and communicate legal documents in both languages.
• Willingness to relocate to Saudi Arabia and work on‑site.

Required skills

• Practical knowledge of Qiwa platform.
• Data compliance expertise, including PDPL.
• Understanding of import/export controls.
• Familiarity with unfair competition laws in Saudi Arabia and the broader Middle East.
