Senior Maintenance Engineer – Electrical & Instrument

About the role

The Senior Maintenance Engineer will lead the development and execution of electrical and instrument maintenance programmes, ensuring safety, reliability and optimal availability of plant assets at ADNOC Group’s Abu Dhabi facilities.

Key responsibilities

• Design, review and optimise maintenance strategies for electrical and instrument equipment using RCM, FMECA and other reliability tools.
• Implement performance assurance programmes and drive continuous improvement actions.
• Prepare scopes of work, evaluate contractors, issue service orders and oversee execution of troubleshooting and major planned maintenance tasks.
• Lead root‑cause analysis of chronic electrical and instrument issues and propose corrective actions.
• Manage major shutdown plans for electrical and instrument systems, integrating activities into overall plant shutdown schedules.
• Support new project commissioning, ensuring compliance with standards and cost optimisation.
• Promote adoption of AI‑based predictive maintenance solutions for power and control equipment.
• Supervise and mentor maintenance staff, providing training to enhance technical competence.
• Contribute to budgeting, monitor expenditures and report variances.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical, Instrumentation or related engineering discipline.
• Minimum 8 years of experience in maintenance of electrical and instrument systems within a large‑scale industrial environment.
• Proven track record in leading maintenance planning, shutdown execution and reliability programmes.
• Strong analytical skills with experience in root‑cause analysis and reliability engineering.
