Senior Manager – ESG Risk

About the role

The Corporate, Wealth & Investment Banking Group is looking for a Senior Manager to embed Environmental, Social and Governance (ESG) principles into the bank’s credit risk framework. You will work closely with the Governance, Policy and Control team to align credit practices with ESG policies, risk appetite and regulatory expectations.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and implement ESG policies, procedures and risk‑appetite guidelines across selected business groups.
• Conduct ESG scorecard assessments, enhanced due‑diligence and manage external ESG consultants.
• Lead system changes for ESG policy monitoring and support user‑acceptance testing of risk systems.
• Oversee data collection, post‑extraction review and issue identification for ESG reporting.
• Provide training on ESG policies, procedures and risk standards to credit teams and operations.
• Ensure compliance with all organisational and departmental policies, processes and SOPs.

Required profile

• Minimum 7 years of experience in credit risk, ESG risk management or related banking functions.
• Strong understanding of UAE regulatory reporting standards and ESG frameworks such as TCFD and TNFD.
• Proven ability to work with cross‑functional teams and external consultants.
• Excellent analytical, communication and training delivery skills.
