Senior Materials Planning Assistant

About the role

Emirates Engineering's Engine Maintenance Centre (EEMC) delivers MRO services for the engines of Emirates' fleets, covering Engine Technical Services, Propulsion Planning and Logistics and its Engine Shops and Test Cell. As a Senior Materials Planning Assistant you will help Material Planning Officers and Supervisors plan and procure aircraft spares and tools to meet operational and maintenance needs, and help keep inventory accurate.

Key responsibilities

• Work with Material Planning Officers and Supervisors to find cost-effective, timely solutions by reviewing IPC, CMM and other documentation and suggesting alternative or breakdown part numbers or in-house/in-situ repair options.
• Help define part numbers and set up interchangeabilities in the ERP system using data from IPC, CMM, SB, S-file and other technical documents.
• Support data compilation for float calculations, float review, surplus reviews and non-moving parts.
• Assist in stocktaking of EK inventory at DXB and support outstation stores to match inventory against physical stock.
• Review gross stock value, service levels, inventory float and quantities, usage and other inventory parameters in the ERP system, and generate and act on inventory control reports.
• Prepare spare usage and inventory reviews for outstations, create station lists based on standard recommended spares lists and update EK stock to flag shortages for new stations or aircraft type changes.
• Follow up on material shortages against nil stock reports, track dues-in components and clear store discrepancies.
• Expedite open purchase orders and quotes by liaising with external suppliers and freight forwarders.
• Collect and process data for daily, weekly and monthly analysis reports.

Required profile

• 12 years of schooling or equivalent.
• Relevant engineering experience in production planning, aircraft maintenance, workshops, maintenance planning, technical records or a related environment.
• Good understanding of aircraft documentation such as AMM, IPC, CMM, work packages and maintenance schedules.

Required skills

• Proficiency in MS Office (Word, Excel and PowerPoint).
• Knowledge of ULTRAMAIN is an advantage.
