Senior PMC Interface Engineer - Projects

About the role

Wood is hiring a Senior PMC Interface Engineer for projects in Abu Dhabi. The role manages and coordinates all technical, engineering, construction and operational interfaces between the client, the PMC, EPC contractors, vendors, subcontractors and client teams, ensuring timely resolution of interface issues and effective communication for safe and efficient project delivery.

Key responsibilities

• Manage and coordinate interfaces between the Client, PMC, EPC contractors, vendors, subcontractors and operations teams.
• Facilitate integration of engineering, procurement, construction, commissioning and start-up across all project phases.
• Establish and maintain an Interface Management System to identify, track and resolve interface issues.
• Develop, implement and maintain the Project Interface Management Plan and Interface Register.
• Identify, document and manage interfaces between engineering disciplines, contractors, vendors, subcontractors and client teams.
• Coordinate interface meetings and establish clear boundaries, responsibilities and communication channels.
• Monitor interface actions, close outstanding issues and mitigate risks.
• Review engineering deliverables, drawings and technical documents for interface conflicts.
• Support design reviews, HAZOP studies, constructability reviews and value engineering workshops.
• Assess the impact of engineering changes and scope modifications and recommend corrective actions.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in engineering (mechanical, civil, electrical, instrumentation, process, chemical or related); MBA in engineering, project management or business administration is advantageous.
• Minimum 15+ years of experience in oil & gas, LNG, petrochemical, refinery, energy, infrastructure or industrial projects.
• Proven experience in PMC, EPC, owner's engineer or major capital project environments.
• Demonstrated experience managing interfaces across multiple contractors, work packages and stakeholders.
• Full project lifecycle experience, including engineering, procurement, construction, commissioning, start-up and handover.
• Experience on large, complex, multidisciplinary and multi-location projects.
• Professional certifications such as PMP, PMI-SP or PRINCE2 are preferred.
