Structural Engineer - Site

About the role

Egis, an international engineering, consulting and construction firm operating in 100 countries, is hiring a Structural Site Engineer in Abu Dhabi. The engineer supervises and monitors structural construction on site so that work follows approved drawings, project specifications, codes and standards.

Key responsibilities

• Supervise and monitor structural construction activities to ensure compliance with approved drawings, specifications, codes, standards and quality requirements.
• Carry out regular site inspections and quality audits to verify compliance with design specifications and construction standards.
• Prepare and maintain site documentation, including daily reports, inspection records and as-built drawings.
• Coordinate with project managers, contractors and design engineers to resolve technical issues and implement corrective actions.
• Monitor project schedules and timelines, and inspect materials, equipment and structural components on delivery.
• Identify defects, non-conformances and safety hazards and recommend remedial measures.
• Oversee safety protocols and ensure site personnel follow health and safety regulations.
• Report technical findings and project updates to stakeholders and keep accurate records of structural work, testing results and certifications.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or Structural Engineering.
• Typically 10-15 years of experience in structural construction and site supervision.
• Experience with pre-cast and cast-in-situ concrete and steel structures; UAE/GCC experience often preferred.
• Strong leadership, supervisory, communication and problem-solving skills.

Required skills

• Reinforced concrete and steel structures.
• Familiarity with ACI, BS, Eurocodes and ASTM.
• Review of structural drawings and calculations.
• AutoCAD, ETABS, SAFE, PCA, PROKON, BIM and Microsoft Office.
