Senior Python Engineer – Backend & AI Development

About the role

We are seeking a Senior Python Engineer to join a prestigious global family office in Abu Dhabi. The role focuses on building and maintaining robust server‑side applications, APIs and AI‑enabled features, working closely with product, front‑end and DevOps teams. You will be part of a dynamic team that values technical excellence and continuous learning.

Key responsibilities

• Design, develop and optimise backend systems and RESTful APIs using Python.
• Ensure security, scalability and high performance of services.
• Collaborate with front‑end developers to integrate APIs and deliver seamless user experiences.
• Manage and optimise database schemas, write efficient queries and maintain data integrity in MySQL and MongoDB.
• Implement authentication, authorization and encryption mechanisms.
• Participate in CI/CD pipelines, code reviews and Agile ceremonies.
• Support AI‑powered product development by working with data science and product teams.
• Troubleshoot production issues and work with DevOps/SRE to improve reliability.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, IT or a related discipline.
• Minimum 3 years of professional backend development experience, preferably on B2C products.
• Strong problem‑solving skills and ability to communicate technical concepts to non‑technical stakeholders.
• Proven experience working in cross‑functional, Agile teams.
