Senior Quantity Surveyor – Buildings

About the role

The Senior Quantity Surveyor will lead the commercial and contractual management of major building projects in Abu Dhabi, overseeing cost control, contract administration and financial performance throughout the project lifecycle.

Key responsibilities

• Manage all quantity surveying and commercial activities on building projects.
• Prepare cost estimates, quantity take‑offs, Bills of Quantities (BOQs), tender and contract documents.
• Administer contracts, ensuring compliance with obligations and project requirements.
• Review, evaluate and negotiate variations, claims, extensions of time and additional cost submissions.
• Prepare, submit and negotiate interim payment applications and final accounts.
• Monitor project budgets, cash flow, forecasts and commercial performance.
• Provide commercial support to Project Managers, Resident Engineers and project teams.
• Manage subcontractor procurement, contract administration and final account settlements.
• Identify commercial risks and opportunities and recommend mitigation measures.
• Liaise with clients, contractors, consultants and authorities on commercial matters.
• Participate in project meetings, progress reviews and commercial negotiations.
• Prepare monthly commercial reports and management updates.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Quantity Surveying, Civil Engineering, Construction Management or related field.
• Minimum 15 years of quantity surveying experience, with at least 5 years in the UAE.
• Proven track record delivering commercial services on large‑scale building projects.
• Strong knowledge of FIDIC contracts and contract administration practices.
• Experience in claims management, variation assessment, cost control, procurement and final account negotiations.
• Excellent analytical, communication and stakeholder management abilities.
