Senior Robotics Software Engineer Payload Integration

About the role

Anduril Industries is seeking a senior robotics software engineer to lead payload integration for autonomous platforms on the Maneuver Dominance team in Abu Dhabi. You will design and implement software that connects mission payloads, stores management systems and vehicle networks, ensuring reliable operation in demanding defense environments.

Key responsibilities

• Develop scalable networked software that interfaces with routers, switches and managed networks on autonomous vehicles.
• Design and integrate stores management systems (SMS) and other payload subsystems to control the release of munitions and mission equipment.
• Architect and document APIs and Interface Control Documents (ICDs) using HTTP, REST and gRPC to link vehicles, payloads and ground stations.
• Implement low‑level data transport over UDP and TCP, optimizing for low latency and high reliability.
• Collaborate with hardware engineers to create robust hardware‑software interfaces for diverse sensor and actuator packages.

Required profile

• Proven experience in robotics or embedded software engineering, preferably in defense or autonomous systems.
• Strong background in network programming and protocol implementation.
• Demonstrated ability to design APIs and interface specifications for distributed systems.
• Experience working in fast‑paced, mission‑critical environments.
