Senior Team Lead AI Engineering

About the role

Deel is looking for a Senior Team Lead to own the technical vision of its Growth engine. Based in Dubai, you will guide a multidisciplinary team of 6‑8 engineers working on AI agents, backend services and data pipelines, delivering production‑grade code that powers the world’s leading global payroll platform.

Key responsibilities

• Define and drive the architectural roadmap for AI‑enabled features across the platform.
• Lead a cross‑functional team of AI developers, backend, full‑stack, data engineering and data science engineers.
• Write and review production code in Node.js, TypeScript and PostgreSQL.
• Collaborate with product, design and analytics to translate business goals into scalable technical solutions.
• Mentor engineers, promote best practices and ensure high code quality and performance.

Required profile

• 8+ years of software engineering experience.
• At least 2 years leading technical direction for complex systems.
• Proven ability to influence architecture without heavy management overhead.
• Strong problem‑solving mindset and passion for AI‑driven products.
