Senior Technical Software Engineer – IT Group Security (Facial Recognition)

About the role

Emirates is seeking a Senior Technical Software Engineer to join its IT Group Security team focused on facial recognition solutions. The role combines hands‑on software development with technical leadership, ensuring secure, scalable systems that support the airline’s global operations.

Key responsibilities

• Lead technical design and delivery of medium to large‑scale initiatives, translating business needs into maintainable solutions.
• Develop, review, and maintain high‑quality code following Emirates Group engineering standards and architectural guidelines.
• Mentor engineers, conduct code reviews, and share knowledge across the team.
• Collaborate with architects, product owners, vendors, and dependent teams to resolve technical dependencies and risks.
• Drive engineering excellence through secure coding, test automation, CI/CD pipelines, observability, and continuous refactoring.
• Lead incident resolution, root‑cause analysis, and service restoration within agreed SLAs.
• Evaluate emerging technologies, including AI‑assisted development tools, and contribute to engineering standards.

Required profile

• Degree or Honours (12+3 or equivalent) in Computer Science, Software Engineering or a related field.
• Minimum 5 years of software engineering experience delivering enterprise applications in Agile environments.
• Proven ability to lead technical design and mentor engineering teams.
