Senior Test Engineer – Mobile Audio/Video & VoIP

About the role

Astra Tech is seeking a Senior Test Engineer to lead quality assurance for its mobile VoIP solutions. You will focus on audio and video performance, ensuring seamless real‑time communication across iOS and Android devices.

Key responsibilities

• Own functional testing and QA for mobile VoIP products, covering 1‑to‑1 calls, group calls, weak‑network scenarios and cross‑platform interoperability.
• Conduct specialized audio/video testing, measuring FPS, freeze rate, end‑to‑end latency, echo, A/V sync, MOS and other quality metrics.
• Design, build and maintain UI automation frameworks (Appium or similar) to expand mobile regression coverage.
• Develop API automation using Python and pytest, integrating tests into CI/CD pipelines.
• Leverage AI tools (LLMs, coding assistants) to generate intelligent test cases, analyse logs, triage defects and create test data.
• Contribute to test infrastructure such as weak‑network simulators, multi‑device orchestration (ADB) and competitor benchmarking.
• Produce quantified quality reports and drive continuous engineering improvements.

Required profile

• Minimum 3 years of mobile testing experience, with hands‑on work on audio/video or VoIP products.
• Practical knowledge of audio/video quality measurement methods and tools.
• Strong Python programming skills and experience building automation frameworks from scratch.
• Proficiency in UI automation (Appium/Airtest) and API automation (pytest or equivalent).
• Ability to use AI coding tools (e.g., Claude, Copilot) to enhance testing workflows.
• Excellent debugging skills for client logs, packet captures and media pipelines.
• Professional working proficiency in English for daily communication and documentation.
