Senior Wet Utilities Design Engineer

About the role

Parsons Corporation is seeking an experienced Senior Wet Utilities Design Engineer to lead the design of water and wastewater networks for large private and government projects in the Gulf region. The role involves independent design work, technical coordination, and mentorship of junior staff.

Key responsibilities

• Design collection, conveyance, and disposal pressure networks independently.
• Develop hydraulic models and design reports using Bentley WaterCAD, WaterGEMS, Hammer, and WANDA.
• Perform load demand calculations for major developments.
• Plan, design, and oversee construction of water supply systems, including treatment, pumping, and intake structures.
• Create utility cross‑sections complying with local authority requirements (RTA, DMT, MOMRA, etc.).
• Prepare technical specifications, design reports, and ensure compliance with British, American, DEWA, and DM regulations.
• Liaise with service providers to obtain NOCs and design approvals.
• Review supplier drawings, conduct technical bid analyses, and issue specifications and data sheets.
• Provide technical guidance to CAD designers, drafters, and junior engineers.
• Perform CAD and 3D modeling tasks and, when required, sign off designs as a professional engineer.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering (Master’s preferred).
• Minimum 12 years of experience in urban water supply and irrigation system design.
• At least 5 years of experience working in the UAE/GCC region.
• Strong knowledge of load demand calculations for large-scale projects.
• Familiarity with local water, irrigation, and firefighting authority regulations (DEWA, ADDC, etc.).
