Ships Agency Operator

About the role

Wilhelmsen Port Services is seeking a Ships Agency Operator to join its Abu Dhabi team. The role supports vessel calls by coordinating all port‑related activities, ensuring safe and efficient operations in line with company procedures and customer requirements.

Key responsibilities

• Attend and board vessels as directed, following Standard Operating Procedures.
• Advise principals on contractor selection and submit competitive quotations.
• Maintain compliance with Port Services processes, including correct use of the WASP operating system.
• Monitor vessel activities, handle pre‑funding approvals and manage cash‑in‑transit procedures.
• Update vessel files and transactional systems in real time.
• Record and control expenses incurred during port calls.
• Review supplier invoices and ensure cost‑effective vessel operations.
• Observe PPE standards, QHSSE requirements and use TAKE 5 safety checks.
• Provide timely updates to principals, owners, charterers and other stakeholders.

• Attention to accurate documentation and real‑time system updates.

Required skills

• Proficiency with the WASP operating system.
