Site Mechanical Engineer – High‑Profile Projects

About the role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Site Mechanical Engineer to join our team at a leading engineering consultancy firm. This role focuses on on‑site management and implementation of mechanical systems for high‑profile construction projects, ensuring timely and high‑quality installations.

Key responsibilities

• Supervise the installation, testing and commissioning of mechanical systems including HVAC, plumbing and fire protection.
• Ensure all works comply with project specifications, approved drawings and codes such as ASHRAE, NFPA and local building regulations.
• Conduct site inspections, monitor progress and prepare daily/weekly reports on mechanical activities.
• Review and approve subcontractor shop drawings, method statements and material submittals.
• Coordinate with design teams, contractors and consultants to resolve technical issues and align multidisciplinary works.
• Liaise with authorities to obtain permits and verify compliance with local codes.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related discipline.
• 10–12 years of professional experience in mechanical engineering, preferably in healthcare or large‑scale construction.
• Proven experience supervising mechanical installations and ensuring compliance with ASHRAE, NFPA and local regulations.
• Strong knowledge of health‑and‑safety standards and construction contract forms such as FIDIC.
• Membership in a professional engineering body (e.g., ASHRAE, IMechE) is preferred.
