Sonographer – Diagnostic Ultrasound (Radiology)

About the role

The Sonographer will join the Radiology department in Dubai, delivering high‑quality diagnostic ultrasound examinations to support physicians in patient diagnosis and management. The role involves patient preparation, equipment operation, image acquisition, and strict adherence to DHA regulations and hospital policies.

Key responsibilities

• Perform a wide range of ultrasound examinations, including abdominal, pelvic, obstetric, gynecological, breast, small parts, musculoskeletal, vascular Doppler, and renal studies.
• Assess patients, obtain clinical history, and position them for optimal imaging.
• Optimize machine settings, recognize normal and abnormal findings, and acquire images for radiologist interpretation.
• Assist with ultrasound‑guided procedures such as biopsies, aspirations, and drainages.
• Explain procedures, obtain consent, ensure patient comfort, privacy, and monitor for adverse events.
• Operate, maintain, and conduct routine quality checks on ultrasound equipment; report malfunctions.
• Maintain clean, well‑stocked examination rooms and participate in preventive maintenance programs.
• Document examination details accurately in EMR and RIS; store images in the Picture Archiving system.

Required profile

• Minimum of 24 months (2 years) experience performing diagnostic ultrasound examinations.
• Ability to work under the supervision of the Radiology Manager, Head of Radiology, or Medical Director.
• Commitment to patient safety, confidentiality, and compliance with DHA regulations.
