Sous Chef – Pan‑Asian Cuisine at Buddha Bar

About the role

The Sous Chef will lead the kitchen team at Buddha Bar, delivering high‑quality Pan‑Asian cuisine for guests in Dubai. This full‑time position reports to the Executive Chef and ensures smooth daily operations.

Key responsibilities

• Supervise and coordinate activities of cooks and kitchen staff, ensuring proper food presentation and decorative displays.
• Monitor food quantities, stock levels, and kitchen supplies, maintaining logs for food safety programs.
• Inform service staff of menu specials, out‑of‑stock items, and prepare special or substitute meals as required.
• Assist cooks with various tasks, provide necessary items, and ensure uniform and professional appearance of staff.
• Maintain quality standards, report any product that does not meet specifications, and follow all company safety and security policies.
• Support management in hiring, training, scheduling, evaluating, and coaching employees.
• Address guest service needs and develop positive working relationships within the team.
• Perform physical duties such as standing for extended periods, lifting objects up to 25 lb, and moving throughout the kitchen.

Required profile

• Technical, trade or vocational school degree.
• 4–6 years of relevant culinary experience.
• Minimum 2 years of supervisory experience in a kitchen environment.
• No specific license or certification required.
