Specialist Physician – Family Medicine

About the role

The Specialist Physician in Family Medicine shares the same responsibility as a Consultant Physician for delivering high‑quality, evidence‑based, patient‑centred care. The post holder is expected to model clinical excellence, supervise junior medical staff and contribute to training and research activities within the division.

Key responsibilities

• Diagnose and treat patients according to best‑practice standards, documenting all clinical information accurately and timely.
• Lead ward rounds, reassess in‑patients and out‑patients regularly, and ensure appropriate utilization of resources.
• Supervise and mentor junior medical staff, jointly assuming responsibility for the care they provide.
• Participate in multi‑disciplinary meetings, liaise with other specialties and support services, and ensure patients are prepared for procedures with informed consent.
• Support quality improvement initiatives, audit activities and incident reporting within the division.

Required profile

• Specialist Certificate in Family Medicine, board‑certified.
• Tier 1: No additional experience required post‑board certification; Tier 2: Minimum 2 years clinical experience; Tier 3: Minimum 3 years clinical experience as a Specialist.
• UAE nationals and non‑UAE nationals enrolled in HAAD‑accredited residency programs are eligible.
• Commitment to continuous professional development, clinical research and publication.
