Specialist, Technology (Electrical)

About the role

The Specialist, Technology (Electrical) will support the development, evaluation, deployment and optimisation of drilling and well‑related technologies for ADNOC Drilling. The role focuses on enhancing safety, operational efficiency and cost performance while working closely with operations, engineering and external partners.

Key responsibilities

• Identify, assess and select drilling and well construction technologies.
• Participate in pilots, trials and proof‑of‑concept activities in operational environments.
• Deploy, test and optimise approved technologies across rigs and projects.
• Provide technical support to drilling and operations teams during implementation.
• Troubleshoot technical issues and recommend corrective actions.
• Monitor technology performance, collect operational data and report benefits.
• Coordinate with OEMs, service companies and technology vendors.
• Develop and maintain technical documentation, procedures and best practices.
• Support training, knowledge transfer and continuous‑improvement initiatives.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Petroleum, Mechanical, Electrical, Mechatronics, Automation or a related engineering discipline.
• Minimum 12 years of relevant experience in drilling, well construction or upstream technology roles.
• Hands‑on experience supporting operational environments is preferred.
• Familiarity with drilling technologies, digital tools, automation or advanced analytics is an advantage.
