Staff Nurse – Medical & Surgical ICU

About the role

The organization is seeking a qualified Staff Nurse to join the Medical & Surgical ICU in Madinat Zayed. The role involves delivering age‑appropriate, evidence‑based patient care in line with the Nursing Scope of Practice and the professional code of conduct for Abu Dhabi.

Key responsibilities

• Assess, plan, implement and evaluate patient care according to unit policies and procedures.
• Supervise and mentor practical nurses, midwives, junior staff and student nurses, acting as a preceptor when required.
• Identify significant changes in patient condition, initiate appropriate actions and communicate with physicians or supervisors.
• Administer medications safely, monitor patient responses, report adverse drug reactions and medication errors.
• Participate in interdisciplinary team meetings, promote collaborative practice and ensure patient advocacy.
• Respond to emergencies following organizational protocols and contribute to cost‑effective resource management.
