Staff Physician – Obesity Medicine

About the role

The Cleveland Clinic Abu Dhabi is seeking a Staff Physician specialized in Obesity Medicine within its Digestive Disease department. The role involves direct patient care, diagnosis, prevention and treatment of obesity‑related conditions, and collaboration with a multidisciplinary team.

Key responsibilities

• Monitor and provide comprehensive care to patients in the Digestive Disease – Obesity Medicine specialty.
• Prescribe and administer medications, therapies, and other specialized treatments.
• Analyze medical records, reports and test results to establish diagnoses.
• Gather detailed patient histories and discuss procedures, test results, and treatment plans.
• Perform specific treatments or surgical procedures as required.
• Document patient encounters and coordinate referrals to other healthcare professionals.
• Collaborate with medical and non‑medical staff to ensure high‑quality, culturally sensitive care.
• Participate in administrative duties, committees, task forces and performance‑improvement initiatives.

Required profile

• MD, MBBS, MBChB or equivalent qualification from an accredited institution.
• Completion of Internal Medicine qualification as per recognized specialty certification.
• For Tier 1 country physicians: minimum 2 years post‑qualification experience; for Tier 2: minimum 5 years.
• Valid medical license/registration in the home country or last place of employment.
• Ability to communicate effectively in English; Arabic proficiency is preferred.
