Steward - Kitchen and Dining

About the role

Raffles The Palm Dubai, a luxury beach resort on Palm Jumeirah opened in 2021, is hiring a Steward. Reporting to the Chief Steward, the Steward keeps the kitchen and stewarding areas clean and hygienic, washes and stores equipment, utensils and dishes, and supports the kitchen team in smooth daily operations. The role suits a hardworking, reliable and team-oriented person who follows hygiene and safety standards.

Key responsibilities

• Report for duty punctually in the correct uniform and name badge, and follow the assignments of the Stewarding Supervisor, Assistant Chief Steward and Chief Steward.
• Clean, wash and polish dishes and kitchen equipment, and wash pots, pans and utensils to hygiene and sanitation standards.
• Use dishwashing, glass-washing, pot-washing, floor-cleaning, silver burnishing and transport vehicles safely and economically.
• Count, sort and prepare equipment for banquet functions, and keep equipment and machinery clean, sanitized and in good condition with minimal breakage.
• Clean service areas, back of house areas and kitchen areas, remove food waste and garbage, and maintain a tidy, organised environment.
• Observe personal hygiene and grooming, stay security-conscious and report suspicious activity, damage to furniture and equipment, or any other issues to superiors.
• Attend meetings, briefings and training, communicate positively with colleagues and adapt to changes in departmental function.

Required profile

• Reading, writing and oral proficiency in English.
