Structural Inspector – Dubai

About the role

Parsons is seeking a qualified Structural Inspector to supervise and inspect structural works on a major project in Dubai. You will ensure that all construction activities comply with contract specifications, safety standards, and quality requirements.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct inspections of demolition, construction of reservoirs, lifting stations, landscaping structures, lagoons, swimming pools, substations, retaining walls, tunnels, bridges, and related works.
• Maintain project files, quantity calculations, daily diaries, and prepare daily reports and documentation.
• Verify that only approved materials are used and collect certificates of compliance, safety data sheets, and inspection tags.
• Perform labor‑compliance interviews, maintain as‑built plans, and document non‑conformances.
• Report installed quantities for payment applications and change‑order verification.
• Coordinate sub‑consultants for surveying and material testing.
• Assist in developing job‑safety practices, quality‑control procedures, and respond to emergency call‑backs on site.
• Provide technical guidance to junior inspectors and ensure public safety throughout the project.

Required profile

• Diploma or Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or a related field, or equivalent experience.
• Minimum 5 years of experience as a Structural Inspector within the region.
• Strong knowledge of public‑works contracts and construction processes.
• Ability to read and interpret engineering plans, specifications, and calculations.
• Effective mathematical skills for engineering calculations, graphs, and charts.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office, project‑management software, and internet research tools.
• Excellent diary‑keeping, reporting, and English composition skills.
• Capability to recognize hazardous conditions and take appropriate corrective actions.
