About the role

The Student Advising Specialist – Careers supports student success by delivering personalized, student‑centered guidance throughout their academic journey. Working closely with the Associate Head of Student Advising and multiple university stakeholders, the role ensures students understand requirements, develop plans, and access needed support services.

Key responsibilities

• Provide individualized academic advising and develop academic and professional plans for an assigned student caseload.
• Monitor student progress, conduct early‑intervention outreach, and coordinate referrals to wellbeing, financial, career, and accessibility services.
• Maintain accurate advising records, generate reports and dashboards, and contribute to continuous‑improvement initiatives.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in a related STEM discipline.
• Minimum of 5 years experience in student advising, student affairs, or higher‑education support.
• Experience providing individualized guidance to students in a higher‑education environment.

Required skills

• Proficiency with Student Information Systems and advising platforms.
• Experience using Customer Relationship Management (CRM) systems and reporting tools.
