Subject Coordinator – Arabic & Islamic Department

About the role

The Campus‑based Subject/Content Coordinator will provide instructional leadership for the Arabic and Islamic Department at Gulf Education. Reporting to the Campus Director, the role involves coaching, supervising and evaluating teachers while driving professional development aligned with ENS guidelines.

Key responsibilities

• Lead the Arabic & Islamic Department in selection, implementation and administration of instructional resources.
• Coach, supervise and evaluate teachers, ensuring high‑quality instruction.
• Design and oversee standards‑based student assessments.
• Identify and deliver professional development for teachers and administrators.
• Collaborate with heads of curriculum, professional development, IB coordinators and school leadership on curriculum and assessment matters.
• Assist in teacher recruitment and selection for the department.
• Evaluate and continuously improve content programs in line with the approved ENS curriculum.

Required profile

• Master’s degree (or higher) in the relevant content area or in Curriculum Development, Instruction, or Research, plus a bachelor’s degree.
• Minimum 5 years of teaching experience in Arabic, UAE, or Islamic Studies.
• Proven experience with standards‑based teaching approaches and familiarity with Common Core, NGSS, and UAE National Curriculum Standards.
• Experience navigating accreditation and external authorization processes (MOE, ADEK, KHDA, AdvancED, IBO, ECIS).
• Computer literate with proficiency in cloud‑based Microsoft Office 365.
• Excellent oral and written English communication (IELTS 6.5 or higher).
• Demonstrated change‑leadership ability within academic departments.
