Supplier & Cost Management Specialist - Technology

About the role

The Supplier & Cost Management Specialist – Technology will lead governance of technology spend, supplier performance and cost optimisation across the Digital Technology & Innovation portfolio. Working closely with Technology, Finance, Procurement and Business teams, the role ensures transparency of costs, maximises value from investments and drives sustainable savings.

Key responsibilities

• Provide end‑to‑end visibility and governance of technology expenditure across software, cloud, infrastructure, telecom, managed and professional services.
• Develop and maintain spend forecasts, financial models, dashboards and executive reports to support budgeting and decision‑making.
• Partner with Technology and Finance to support annual budgeting, forecasting, cost allocation and financial planning.
• Build business cases and commercial evaluations (TCO, ROI, NPV, IRR, pay‑back) for technology investments and transformation programmes.
• Lead commercial negotiations, contract renewals and supplier management to optimise value and service performance.
• Establish supplier governance frameworks and conduct regular performance reviews covering delivery, compliance, risk and innovation.
• Identify and execute cost‑optimisation initiatives across software licensing, cloud services, infrastructure and managed services.
• Maintain a technology savings portfolio and ensure realisation and sustainability of financial benefits.
• Use data analytics to spot spend anomalies, supplier risks and cost‑reduction opportunities.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, IT, Engineering or a related field.
• 5+ years of experience in Technology Finance, IT Commercial Management, Vendor Management or Strategic Sourcing.
• Proven track record managing large technology spend portfolios and delivering measurable cost optimisation.
• Experience in large enterprise environments with exposure to technology procurement, software licensing, cloud and infrastructure cost management.
