Systems Architect

About the role

EDGE Group is seeking a Systems Architect to define and maintain the global system architecture for its turbofan propulsion programs. The role ensures technical coherence across all subsystems and supports the delivery of high‑performance engine solutions for aerospace and defence applications.

Key responsibilities

• Define and support functional architecture and system breakdown structure to meet performance targets.
• Establish MBSE methodologies and tool suites for the Turbofan team.
• Allocate, manage, and trace system‑level requirements.
• Lead trade‑off analyses between performance, cost, weight, and durability.
• Maintain interface control documents (ICDs, FICDs) and ensure architectural consistency throughout development phases.

Required profile

• Minimum 8 years of experience in turbofan propulsion, aerospace, or similarly complex engineered systems.
• Strong understanding of turbofan architectures, engine performance, and integration constraints.
• Knowledge of certification schemes (CS‑E) and safety principles (FHA, PSSA).
• Experience interacting with customers, OEMs, and regulatory authorities.

Required skills

• System engineering and MBSE (SysML, V‑Cycle).
• Functional decomposition methodologies and standards.
• Engine performance analysis (AGB, ECU, FAN/LPC/HPC/HPT/LPT/TRF/OGV).
