Tax Manager

About the role

Velora Aviation is seeking an experienced Tax Manager to lead its Group tax function across the United Arab Emirates. The role will ensure full compliance with UAE Corporate Tax, VAT, Transfer Pricing and related governance requirements while supporting the company’s growth and digital transformation initiatives.

Key responsibilities

• Lead the Group tax function, overseeing compliance with UAE Corporate Tax, VAT, Transfer Pricing and governance.
• Manage external tax consultants, ensuring quality, timelines and technical accuracy.
• Review and approve VAT returns, corporate tax filings, Transfer Pricing documentation and advisory reports.
• Oversee tax registrations, deregistrations, filings, payments, refunds and regulatory submissions for all Group entities.
• Provide tax guidance on contracts, restructuring, cross‑border transactions and complex business matters.
• Maintain tax accounting, including current and deferred tax provisions, reconciliations and financial statement disclosures.
• Lead tax support for external audits, regulatory reviews and stakeholder reporting.
• Maintain the tax governance framework, risk register, policies, controls and compliance calendars.
• Drive tax digitalisation, e‑invoicing readiness and automation within SAP S/4HANA and Oracle FCCS.
• Monitor legislative changes, assess impact and implement required actions.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Taxation or a related field.
• 6–8 years of progressive tax experience in large multi‑entity organisations, preferably in the UAE/GCC.
• Strong knowledge of UAE Corporate Tax, VAT, Transfer Pricing, tax governance and regulatory compliance.
• Proven experience managing external tax consultants and reviewing complex tax filings.
• Good understanding of IFRS tax accounting, tax reporting and audit processes.
