Tax / VAT Accountant – UAE

About the role

The Tax / VAT Accountant will support the company’s UAE tax compliance activities, focusing on VAT documentation, return preparation, review, and submission. The role ensures financial records are accurate, complete, and aligned with UAE tax regulations.

Key responsibilities

• Review and verify VAT‑related invoices, credit notes, debit notes, and other supporting documents.
• Prepare and organize documents and schedules required for VAT return preparation and filing.
• Ensure correct VAT treatment, tax codes, and applicable rates are applied to transactions.
• Reconcile VAT accounts with accounting records and investigate discrepancies.
• Maintain organized tax records and support documentation in accordance with UAE requirements.
• Assist with FTA queries, VAT clarification requests, and audit preparation.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or a related field.
• 2–4 years of UAE VAT experience, including return preparation and filing.
• Practical experience reviewing VAT invoices and supporting documents.
• Familiarity with FTA requirements, queries or audits is preferred.

Required skills

• Strong knowledge of UAE VAT regulations and FTA requirements.
• VAT accounting and tax documentation expertise.
• Advanced Excel skills.
• Experience with ERP/accounting systems.
