Technical Document Engineer

About the role

The Technical Document Engineer will be responsible for managing and controlling all MEP technical documentation and graphical information across properties managed by Wasael. This role ensures that drawings, project records, and documentation are accurate, standardized, and up‑to‑date to support maintenance, asset management, and project execution.

Key responsibilities

• Maintain updated MEP drawings for all managed sites and act as the single point of contact for technical drawings.
• Control approved shop drawings, as‑built drawings, and design calculations for HVAC, Electrical, Plumbing, and Fire Protection.
• Maintain complete project files, method statements, technical documents, and correspondence.
• Coordinate with contractors to collect and archive completion certificates, warranties, O&M manuals, and handover documents.
• Develop and implement a standardized graphical documentation methodology and support CAFM integration.
• Prepare MEP project execution programs in coordination with Fit‑Out and Facility Services teams.
• Prepare CAPEX and OPEX purchase requests for approval.
• Perform additional duties assigned by the Asset Manager.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering.
• AutoCAD certification.
• Minimum 5 years of experience in MEP design and project execution, with at least 3 years in the UAE preferred.

Required skills

• Advanced proficiency in AutoCAD.
• Strong knowledge of MEP systems (HVAC, Electrical, Plumbing, Fire Protection).
• Experience with Microsoft Project and MS Office.
• Familiarity with project documentation control and building construction standards.
• Understanding of CAFM systems and integration processes.
