Technical Operations Engineer – WRSA (UAE)

About the role

We are looking for a Technical Operations Engineer (TOPS) to join our growing team in Abu Dhabi, UAE. The position will initially be based in London while the new simulation centre is built, then relocate to Abu Dhabi to deliver training and simulation services to regional partners.

Key responsibilities

• Serve as a customer‑facing engineer for the Air Maneuver Dominance team, working directly with EDGE and the Emirati Ministry of Defense to deploy integrated hardware‑software solutions.
• Plan, set up, configure, test and troubleshoot AR/VR and other simulation equipment for immersive wargaming exercises and demonstrations.
• Own the deployment of Anduril’s AR/VR gaming engine and mission simulation software at events, ensuring rapid issue identification and resolution.
• Design and run user feedback loops and After‑Action Reviews to capture requirements, issues and improvement ideas.

Required profile

• Proven experience delivering technical solutions across diverse clients and operational environments, with strong customer‑service focus.
• Excellent communication skills both internally and externally, able to coordinate with multiple business lines and clients.
• Demonstrated ability to solve complex problems, plan rehearsals and troubleshoot to ensure seamless customer experiences.
• Eligibility to obtain and maintain a country background check and security clearance.
• Willingness to travel, be based in the UAE and collaborate with teams in the UK and USA.

Required skills

• Hands‑on experience with AR/VR technologies, virtual servers, audio/visual and desktop software.
• Familiarity with collaboration tools such as Confluence, Jira, Slack, Quip, MS Office and Zoom.
• Knowledge of military technology including unmanned systems, communications, electronic warfare and maneuver warfare munitions.
