Technical Support Engineer – EV (BYD) – Abu Dhabi

About the role

The Technical Support Engineer provides front‑line diagnostic assistance for BYD electric vehicles across the UAE. Acting as the primary contact for technical issues, the role ensures tools, literature and service bulletins are available and supports both remote and on‑site problem resolution.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver diagnostic support for EV technical and electrical problems.
• Maintain availability of special tools, technical literature and service bulletins at all service locations.
• Prepare and submit detailed technical case reports to the technical manager and OEM.
• Escalate and track technical issues, coordinating weekly reviews with the technical manager.
• Provide on‑site field visits and remote assistance to resolve complex issues.
• Assist in failed‑part analysis, coordinate shipments to the OEM and coach technicians on correct repair methods.
• Manage software updates and equipment usage to meet technical manager assessments.

Required profile

• Diploma or equivalent in mechanical or electrical engineering.
• IMI EV Level 3 or 4 certification.
• Valid UAE driving licence without GCC travel restrictions.
• Minimum 6 years of experience in automotive repair, preferably with electric or hybrid vehicles.
