Telecom Field Engineer – Offshore Installation & Commissioning

About the role

We are seeking an experienced Telecom Field Engineer to join our offshore projects in Abu Dhabi. The role focuses on the installation, testing and commissioning of telecom systems on platforms, jackets and jack‑up rigs within the oil & gas sector.

Key responsibilities

• Execute installation, testing and commissioning of fibre optic and copper structured cabling systems offshore.
• Lay, terminate and certify fibre optic cables using OTDR and splicing tools.
• Install, configure and troubleshoot PAGA public address & alarm systems, CCTV, access control and radio communication (VHF/UHF/TETRA) equipment.
• Perform loop checks, functional testing and integrate systems with ICSS/DCS.
• Support pre‑commissioning and FAT/SAT activities and coordinate with on‑shore engineering teams.
• Prepare daily reports, punch‑list clearance and handover documentation while complying with offshore safety and permit‑to‑work procedures.

Required profile

• Diploma or Bachelor’s degree in Telecom, Electronics or Electrical Engineering.
• Offshore certifications such as BOSIET/HUET are preferred.
• Proven hands‑on experience on offshore platforms, jackets or jack‑up rigs.
• Familiarity with hazardous area requirements (ATEX/IECEx) and live offshore environments.
• Strong problem‑solving and troubleshooting abilities.
